This course is eligible for one hour of CE/CME for RNs, LPNs, LVNs, Social Workers, and Long Term Care Administrators. It is pending approval for CME for MDs, PAs, and NPs.

How does trauma, stress and adversity impact our brains and the brains of our patients? How do we meet these challenges and respond to our patients as we face unprecedented challenges in healthcare?

Join Jennifer Sokira, consultant and curator of AccentCare’s Trauma-Informed Care lecture series for a discussion aimed to promote conversation and common language for growing our compassionate and trauma-responsive community.  In this presentation, you will learn or refresh your knowledge about the neurobiology and symptoms of trauma as well as the impact of trauma on various parts of the brain and nervous system.  We will consider some of the signs and symptoms seen in various clinical settings.  Finally, we will overview the concept of “Universal Trauma Precautions” as a framework for creating safe and resilient clinical relationships and environments.

This 1 hour CE is part of our monthly series on trauma-informed care.
