Healthcare providers are leaders in many ways, whether in the clinic with service users, in staff meetings, and in the community, whether or not they hold a leadership or management position. In this dynamic time in healthcare and society, we need leadership that embraces curiosity with conviction and courage so that everyone can experience a sense of belonging and feel empowered to build the connections that will sustain our well-being.
This session will support participants in exploring how to build their capacity for transformational and compassionate leadership, while also empowering those around them to build their own capacity. Through interactive experiences, the presenter and the participants will consider together how to strategically maximize individual strengths, reconnect with vision, and utilize creativity to inspire others.
Topics will include tips for becoming more transformational and less transactional, how to practice self-compassion, identifying strengths and values, and clarifying a vision. Participants will come away from the session with a guide to create a personal plan for growth and practical tools for aligning their passion and compassion for the greater good.

Andrea Dalton partners with leaders and organizations in developing trauma-informed, culturally-responsive programs, practices, and policies through her work with the Center for Trauma Informed Innovation. Prior to joining the CTII, Andrea worked for more than a decade as a board-certified music therapist, primarily in inpatient mental health units.
Early in her career, she became interested in the powerful possibilities of transformation through the paradigm of trauma informed cared. She took on the unique opportunity as a trauma informed care consultant in 2016, building on her undying fascination with the way the brain work, a critical appreciation for research, her creative spirit, and a strong commitment to make the world a better place for all people.
As a certified leadership coach, Andrea holds the perspective that leadership is within each person, regardless of job title, and empowers those leaders in the practice of trauma informed caring. She continues to serve the music therapy community as a faculty supervisor for Roman Music Therapy Services in Wakefield, MA, and on the board of directors for the American Music Therapy Association.
Andrea is also personally involved in service to various organizations, including her church and her children's school district.
