Leading Where You Are Planted: Transformational and Compassionate Leadership

This course is eligible for one hour of CE/CME for MDs, PAs, NPs, RNs, LPNs, LVNs, Social Workers, and Long Term Care Administrators.

Healthcare providers are leaders in many ways, whether in the clinic with service users, in staff meetings, and in the community, whether or not they hold a leadership or management position. In this dynamic time in healthcare and society, we need leadership that embraces curiosity with conviction and courage so that everyone can experience a sense of belonging and feel empowered to build the connections that will sustain our well-being.

This session will support participants in exploring how to build their capacity for transformational and compassionate leadership, while also empowering those around them to build their own capacity. Through interactive experiences, the presenter and the participants will consider together how to strategically maximize individual strengths, reconnect with vision, and utilize creativity to inspire others.

Topics will include tips for becoming more transformational and less transactional, how to practice self-compassion, identifying strengths and values, and clarifying a vision. Participants will come away from the session with a guide to create a personal plan for growth and practical tools for aligning their passion and compassion for the greater good.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will identify personal growth areas for transformational and compassionate leadership.
  • Participants will apply transformational and compassionate leadership skills to enhance their professional role.
  • Participants will examine how the practice of self-compassion contributes to leadership well-being.
