When is an ALS patient ready for hospice?
ALS patients can live with their conditions for years. When are these patients eligible for the support that hospice can provide?
Lou Gehrig’s Disease is a debilitating illness that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control. While the rate of decline is consistent over time for a given individual, the rate varies from person to person. Multiple clinical parameters are required to determine hospice eligibility.
